Boats range in size from 30 feet (nine metres) to 60 feet (eighteen metres).

Prices vary, mainly by the size of the fishing boat chartered.

Choose between:

• living on board a vessel
• using a game boat for fishing, then tying up to a Mother ship at night
• staying at an Island resort and fishing during the day
• chartering from Cairns or Port Douglas and fishing on a daily basis

Prices range from $2,000 to $5,000 Australian for a maximum four clients per day.

There's also a 'live on board' rate which includes all meals, tackle, and moderate alcohol, all you need!

Please bring light clothing and sun protection.

Mother ships range from $5,000 to $10,000 per day in addition to cost of your Game Fishing Boat.

Availability can be a problem if bookings are left too late; early bookings can secure the best fishing dates.

Tide and moon phases are important in Marlin fishing.

We can advise you of times when you inquire, so do not leave it too late.

The top Boats, Skippers and crew, are in demand, and booked up 12 months in advance for peak fishing times, so BOOK early!

Lizard Island Lodge is also heavily booked for September and October. Once again, early bookings are advisable.

This applies also to the better Cairns and Port Douglas Hotels and Resorts. Our season is short - and at prime times of the year, demand can exceed supply!

If you can''t book early, don't despair! We can usually find a suitable boat - but the options will be more restricted.

Barrier Reef Scuba Diving

This differs from Game Fishing in that diving is available all year round.

But the many of the best extended trips usually have to be booked early, as have limited numbers to accommodate on set dates.

Charter Boats are available to cater for YOUR dates if you require as a private charter.

Rates vary with the size of boat, but normally from $1800 Australian per day upwards.

There are numerous superb day trips available from Cairns and Port Douglas.

The operators we use visit superb dive sites and give excellent value for money.

Onshore adventures in the wilds of Cape York

The vast Cape York peninsula is one of the last great wilderness areas.

For an adventure with a difference, try an outing by chopper with well-known local personality Dennis (Brazakka) Wallace.

Brazakka can take you to remote locations on the Cape where the bird watching and fishing are unforgettable.

Port Douglas, the legendary Daintree rainforests and the unequalled beauty of Cape Tribulation are only a day trip from Cairns.

Other day trip possibilities include he rainforest village of Kuranda at the top of the coastal range and inland fishing-haven Lake Tinaroo, nested in tropical rainforests on the Atherton Tablelands.

To the south of Cairns it's another short hop to Mission Beach, with Dunk Island just offshore, and the towns of Innisfail and Tully.

Along the way are great beaches, estuaries teeming with wildlife, magnificent rainforests and spectacular waterfalls.

You'll find many magical places where you can relax, lie under a coconut palm, meditate - or just vegetate! Or... if you want action, try white water rafting - a truly thrilling adventure sport.

Offshore, you can charter a boat and discover the Great Barrier Reef. Snorkel, scuba dive, fish, and see the magnificent corals that abound in so many colors, shapes and sizes.
